It astounds me. The Republic have been able to knit together a vast array of disparate races, develop mind boggling laser swords and travel faster than light. However, despite all of these advances they are incapable of hitting on the idea of occupational health and safety. I’m not sure I’ve noticed a safety railing in any of the movies (actually in TESB there’s a very thin railing on the gantry where Luke and Vader fight). I hesitate to guess at how many people have been lost over the side at Corusant Spaceport…
